Project Summary

A Viessmann venture that enabled everybody in Germany and Austria to receive heating system subsidy.

The venture, FörderProfi, which is not part of Viessmann anymore, was a service that end to end enabled anybody to check eligibility and get assistance in receiving subsidy for renewable heating systems.

I was responsible for the design and UX throughout all touch points within the service. As sole designer within a cross-functional team, I built and refined the user's experience within our hotline, the landing page, our multi-step subsidy check form, a user dashboard, campaign pages, email and paper communication.

Subsidy Eligibility Checker

Enabled users to check whether they are eligible for subsidy, how much subsidy they can potentially receive and how.

Impact

We improved conversation rate significantly by me initiative to fully revamp our multi-step subsidy checker form.
  • When I joined the Viessmann venture FörderProfi, the subsidy check was a full page form that overwhelmed most users due to complexity

  • By splitting it up into several, manageable and progressively more complex steps, we managed to reduce bounce rate significantly.

  • In order to higher trust, I added trust indicators such as governmental certificate logos and increased trust through adding expectation building measures for users.

  • We were able to reduce drop-off and abandonment rate by adding confidence and transparency building measures such as a help button explaining difficult terms.

We were able to significantly improve user acquisition by building campaign pages and collaborating with other companies within Germany
Collaborations with other companies in Germany, that I designed a white label version of core features of our service, enabled us to generate additional funding for the venture.
